my KayLA poodle, loove love loooooove you

This Friday my darling niece, Miss Kay-Kay, Kayla poodle graduated from Kindergarten! I'm so proud of her, she is soo stinkin' smart. The things she says make me laugh hysterically - "luuuuuuukkkkkeeee, I'm in kindergarDEnnnn", that gurl's got some good ones, trust me!
Nomi & Steven put on a fannntastic party to celebrate Kay's graduation and Sue's birthday (Naomi's mother-in-law). There was moon bouncing, swimming, extreme jumping contests, tons of grillin', boozin', and as always - a sweet hot dance party! My whole Saturday was spent at the Schembri estate, never a dull moment. Ever.
Vegas, I've got my eye on you...

Kayla - swim champ, my little mermaid

I think the dancin to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" topped the night. She does know most of the words & she does a KiLLeR moonwalk

birthDay cards & birFday wishes
yesterday was my grampa's birthday. He passed away the year I was born so I didn't get a chance to really know him. I did however, learn about what a great man he was & i heard all the fab stories from my momma & my gramma. can't wait to meet him again.

It was his 1st birthday he got to celebrate with his wife, my gramma, in heaven. I started thinking about birthdays. Filing all my papers away last weekend I came across the birthday card my gramma gave me last year. Crazy card with an orange dress w/feathers, she always loved my crazy outfits & this card "reminded her of me". LAst part of the card reads - "hope your day is great, plus many more to come. I love you, Gramma"
This was the 1st birthday of my entire life with no card from her. Sorry grampa, I know you two are having a great time, but i wish she was still here with me.
Happy Birthday, Alfie ~ lots of love, Sarahkate

my dad, my mom(Nomi in her belly), gramma & grampa

hate 2008
so I ended up completely hating the year 2008.
I started out the year with such high hopes - "it's gonna be great, in 2008! Dominate in '08, PLayahHate in '08, Sarah Kate 2008 (my shout-out to the election of 2008)" but it ended with heartache, saddness and the lost of my dear grandma.
I'll post some highlights (also known as looow lights) from the last months of that awful year. They say bad things come in 3's, well I think that good things happen in three's too...
3 thing that made 2008 worth living for
1. My best friend & older sister, Naomi E. DevLin got married to the love of her life, SttteeeeVaaaan.
2. i met a really fantastic guy that will always hold a small place in my heart<3
3. The Philadelphia Phillies won the World series
more coming, but don't hold your breath
the bride & i after her hunny-moon trip to Hawaii.
darker hair & bangs, my mom said not to - doesn't she know that I don't really listen to anyone?

love love, i don't care what it does to me

i Love: my family, my dog & my job & falling to sleep to the sound of a fan.

i Fear: Chain restaurants, Wrinkles & not being able to shower before bed. I shower at least twice a day, if I can’t, I kind of freak out.
i Can’t wait to: buy my own house, own my own company/clothing line (I’m gonna call it the Sarah Kate Collection), go to heaven.
What I’ve learned about myself:
I have trouble trusting people, I definitely have some serious trust issues.
If I’m not working, I want to be.
I care for animals more than I do for babies/kids (except a small/special few).
I don’t like to ask people for help, I think I can do it all by myself.
I like to build fires and watch them burn, i love when my long hair smells like fire too...
Gonna be grreat in '08...

SO this summer I’ve gone to a lot less concerts than I normally do – recovering concertaholic some might say… I was able to attend two fantastic concerts with a couple of my favorite people. John Mayer, Camden – went with my bro Lukey. Had great seats, pitied the sorry suckers who got stuck on the lawn. Had lawn seats once, never again…I’m not a snob I promise…Saw some people we knew, got some drinks & some sailor shirts. GoooRGEouss Set list: Belief, No such Thing into Why Georgia, Waiting on the World to Change, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Free Falling, Bigger Than my Body, Mercy (DuFFy), Vultures, Heart of Life, Stitched up, Crossroads & Gravity (sooo long & sooo aahmazinc). Encore – Bold as Love, Wheel(I think I cried a little) & Say. Smoke machine was classy, John. Second concert was – big surprise – John Mayer at the Borgata, A.C. N.J. John is usually the only reason I venture into that state. No offense Jersey. Went with my guurrrl SarrR & my sis & her crew. SteeevVVVan, the Black Card Borgata Member won some serious chips (and I don’t mean Herr’s). I’ve never gambled in my life & I don’t plan on starting (oh wait, I did bet $100 that McCain would win the 2008 election).
